There will always, always be an England. If you don't believe me, drop in to The Cock Inn, a traditional English pub dating from 1713. I fell in love with this wonderful refuge about twenty years ago, and the love affair is alive and well today. Located about 35 miles south east of London, between Meopham and Cobham, this is my favourite place to while away the hour with a couple pints of Adnams Broadside (a fruity English strong ale, weighing in with an ABV of 4.7%). Winner of the "Best Freehouse" in the south east of England in the Best Pubs Award 2006, The Cock Inn is the real deal. Owners Andy Turner and wife Denise and staff don't muck about. They treat their beer with reverence and serve great pub grub as well, and all in a friendly atmosphere. Sorry, if you're looking for big screens and fruit machines, you won't find them here. The Cock Inn it will give you something to crow about.
